Christ, Bush, Friday

"Faith is the willingness to pursue the seemingly ineffectual path of obedience and trusting God for the results. The cross is our example and pattern, the seeming defeat that turned into the greatest victory in history." -Jim Wallis

I do not like persuing seemingly ineffectual paths. I prefer a strong grip on sensible plans that lead to tangible results. I prefer...power?

How ridiculous this message of the cross. How ridiculous this message of servanthood, suffering and sacrifice. Ridiculous!

"But we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles"-1 Corinthians 1:23

Many did not understand it 2,000 years ago and many do not understand it now. Our calling is not one of sensibilities, it is one of obedience.
