Today is the Feast of Epiphany. Today Christ is baptized, revealing the Trinity and restoring matter to its lost glory as His body entered the water. The Church Sings:

Troparion - Tone 1

When You, O Lord were baptized in the Jordan
The worship of the Trinity was made manifest
For the voice of the Father bore witness to You
And called You His beloved Son.
And the Spirit, in the form of a dove,
Confirmed the truthfulness of His word.
O Christ, our God, You have revealed Yourself
And have enlightened the world, glory to You!

Kontakion - Tone 4

Today You have shown forth to the world, O Lord,
and the light of Your countenance has been marked on us.
Knowing You, we sing Your praises.
You have come and revealed Yourself,
O unapproachable Light.

I finished reading Dostoevsky’s The Idiot: An innocent and good man is destroyed and the world moves on without much notice.
I finished reading Lynn Truss’s "Eats, Shoots and Leaves": Oh! My punctuation is foul!

I’ve opened the pages to a double-book containing Jaroslav Pelikan’s "Jesus Through the Centuries" and "Mary Through the Centuries". I’ve also been given Virginia Woolf’s "To the Lighthouse". We’ll see how all this works out.

As for listening to things, I’ve been fixed on Dylan’s "John Wesley Harding" and "The Times they are A-Changin’"

This is all so very important.
